Reimagining the Path Forward with Strategic Doing™
Presented by: Signe Bell, Director of Nonprofit Programs & Policy Scientist, University of Delaware
Synopsis: With the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic creating much uncertainty for the context in which our organizations and systems will operate over the next weeks and months, it may be difficult to move forward as expected or planned. It is the perfect time to “think outside the box”, rethink “normal” and reimagine together. Strategic Doing enables people to form action-oriented collaborations quickly, move them toward measurable outcomes, and make adjustments along the way. Strategic Doing is an innovative, structured process for any group working in a setting in which there is a degree of collaboration needed, and/or the environment in which they’re operating is dynamic. Our current environment certainly is dynamic! This practice can be used by organizations, community groups, and coalitions to quickly identify available assets and leverage them to create a defined path forward with measurable outcomes and plenty of opportunity to flex as we adapt to the current environment. Participants will leave the workshop with an understanding of the Strategic Doing process and resources for implementing it, both formally and informally, with your organization or community.
Learning Goals:
- Understand the basic concepts and steps for implementing Strategic Doing within their organization, network or community
- Identify assets and leverage them to create a path forward in uncertain environments
- Apply the simple agile strategy concepts of Strategic Doing within their organizations and collaborations
- Reimagine and apply solutions for complex organizational and community problems and implement a holistic and meaningful path forward
- Engage Strategic Doing professionals to assist in the process as needed
