New Challenges Call for New Thinking

Presented by: Corinna Wilson, President, Wilson500, and certified de Bono Method Trainer

Synopsis: COVID-19 did not come with a playbook. We are making it up as we go, looking for the right tools for this unprecedented job.

Our current logic system is a good way of coming to right/wrong answers. It is increasingly inadequate as a way of producing new ideas, however. The pandemic has made it clear that we need new thinking to meet the challenges presented by today’s “new normal.”  How can we make higher quality decisions, work more effectively as teams, take stronger ownership of strategies, and create and sustain more productive relationships?

At the same time, most of us are working from home, without the luxury of being able to sit around a conference table, brainstorming with colleagues. We are all spending too much time on video meetings, hoping our kids are ok and our dogs don’t bark too loud.

The de Bono Design Thinking Tools, including Six Thinking Hats and Lateral Tools, have been used by organizations worldwide for decades. Now, they are being delivered on an online training platform.

This session, led by local de Bono method certified instructor Corinna Wilson, will provide participants with an overview of the powerful Six Thinking Hats method, which encourages productive creativity, collaboration, and open-mindedness. The tools are incredibly effective and efficient; the system is designed to reduce the time spent in meetings but exponentially increase the creative output!

We will start the session with a five-to-seven minutes introductory segment and identify the successes and challenges you have experienced in your organization. We will then work as a group to learn the thinking tools and come up with creative solutions. The time will fly, everyone will participate, and you will be given opportunities to ask questions along the way and at the end.

Learning Goals:

If you want to unleash the productivity and creativity of your team, save time, reduce conflict in your organization, and streamline decision making, this session will provide you with a useful introduction to an innovative and transformative set of tools that is used by over 800,000 organizational leaders and managers worldwide in hundreds of companies and organizations and have a proven track record in a variety of organizational settings.
